Hunter Biden held an impromptu press conference outside the U.S. Capitol to whine about “MAGA Republicans”, after refusing to comply with Rep. James Comer’s subpoena for a closed-door deposition.
Biden stated, “I’m here today to make sure that the House committees’ illegitimate investigations of my family do not proceed on distortions, manipulated evidence, and lies.”
“They displayed naked photos of me during an oversight hearing. They have taken the light of my dad’s love for me and presented it as darkness. They have no shame,” Hunter whined.

He proceeded to smear “MAGA Republicans”, who he claims “have impugned my character, invaded my privacy, attacked my wife, my children, my family, and my friends. They ridiculed my struggle with addiction. They belittled my recovery, and they have tried to dehumanize me, all to embarrass and damage my father, who has devoted his entire life to service.”
“I have been the target of the unrelenting Trump attack machine shouting, ‘Where’s Hunter?’ Well here’s my answer: I am here. I’m ready,’” Hunter said while actively avoiding questions from Congress.

Hunter Biden on Wednesday repeated his offer to appear at a public hearing on Capitol Hill, appearing to defy a House Republican-issued subpoena that called for him to testify instead at a closed-door deposition.
President Joe Biden’s son announced during brief remarks outside of the U.S. Capitol that he has chosen to testify at a public hearing to answer questions from House Republicans.
The subpoena, however, called for him to appear for a closed-door deposition Wednesday morning before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees. Republicans have rejected Hunter Biden’s offer to appear for an initial public hearing, saying they want him to testify privately first. They have also threatened to hold him in contempt of Congress if he does not appear.
“I’m here today to make sure that the House committees’ illegitimate investigations of my family do not proceed on distortions, manipulated evidence and lies,” he told reporters in his statement.
Hunter Biden said that for six years, he has been the target of “MAGA Republicans” who “have impugned my character invaded my privacy, attacked my wife, my children, my family, and my friends. There’s a reason why Hunter skipped the closed-door deposition, he would have pleaded the fifth to avoid lying under oath.

Rep. Comer was furious that Hunter, who had demanded a public testimony, was a no-show for the deposition.
“We expect to depose the president’s son and then we’ll be more than happy to have a public hearing,” said Comer, adding that reporters would soon be allowed to review the “mountain” of evidence that his committee has uncovered.

Hunter Biden arrived on Capitol Hill Wednesday, not to comply with his subpoena and be deposed at the House Oversight Committee, but to hold a press conference and again offer to testify publicly. He maintained that his father, President Biden “was not financially involved” in his business, and saying there is “no evidence because it did not happen.”
Hunter Biden offer to testify publicly is a de facto rejection of the GOP demand that he appear Wednesday for the closed-door deposition he was subpoenaed for. That deposition was scheduled to take place Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
Instead, he delivered a public statement on Capitol Hill Wednesday, blasting “MAGA” Republicans who have “invaded” his privacy, “attacked” his family, and “ridiculed my struggle with addiction.”

Hunter Biden added that “my father was not financially involved in my business,” saying he was not involved in his dealings with Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, or his Chinese investments and others in the U.S.
Many are calling for Hunter to be held in Contempt of Congress.
