The early morning raid at gunpoint by dozens of SWAT team agents and subsequent arrest of a well-known author, sidewalk counselor, and father of seven is the latest example of Biden’s politicized and weaponized Department of Justice.
Dozens of fully armed SWAT team agents stormed the home of Mark Houck on September 23 and arrested him as his wife and terrified children watched, over a matter that was already dismissed by local authorities.
Houck, 48, was charged with two counts of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act) and entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment in Philadelphia.
As Life Site News reported, Houck is a father of seven and a well-known pro-life author. He is also the founder and president of the King’s Men, an organization dedicated to helping men become better husbands, fathers, and leaders and promotes Christian values. The group also promotes healing for recovering pornography addicts.
(LifeSiteNews) – A well-known pro-life author, sidewalk counselor, and father of seven was the latest victim of a U.S. Department of Justice-sponsored SWAT raid and arrest — for supposed “FACE Act” violations — at his rural home as his children looked on “screaming.”
Mark Houck is the founder and president of The King’s Men, which promotes healing for victims of pornography addiction and promotes Christian virtues among men in the United States and Europe.
According to his wife Ryan-Marie, who spoke with LifeSiteNews, he also drives two hours south to Philadelphia every Wednesday to sidewalk counsel for six to eight hours at two different abortion centers.
Ryan-Marie, who is a homeschooling mother, described how the SWAT team of 25 to 30 FBI agents swarmed their property with around 15 vehicles at 7:05 a.m. this morning. Having quickly surrounded the house with rifles in firing position, “they started pounding on the door and yelling for us to open it.”
Before opening the door, she explained, her husband tried to calm them, saying, “‘Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.’ But they just kept pounding and screaming,” she said.
When he opened the door, “they had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house,” Ryan-Marie described.
“The kids were all just screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic,” she explained.
After asking them why they were at the house, the agents said they were there to arrest Mark. When Ryan-Marie asked for their warrant, “they said that they were going to take him whether they had a warrant or not.”
Watch:
GOP lawmakers are demanding Attorney General, Merrick Garland, explain exactly why the FBI deployed dozens of fully armed agents to storm the home of the Catholic pro-life activist, as his terrified and “screaming” children watched him being dragged off to jail.
The FBI must have an “extraordinary reason” for apprehending Houck and ransacking his home as his children watched in horror, the letter, spearheaded by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), contends.
“There is much to learn about the extent of the FBI’s operations in this case, apparently since state-level charges were apparently dismissed by local authorities in Philadelphia,” the letter states. “Surely, the FBI must have an extraordinary reason for showing up at the home of an American family, allegedly with roughly 25 heavily armed federal agents, and arresting a father in front of his seven children. At the moment, it appears to be an extraordinary overreach for political ends.”
The lawmakers are demanding Garland answer to the circumstances surrounding Houck’s arrest by Sept. 30.
Garland must publicly disclose the rationale behind the “excessive level of force used by the FBI in this case, and why the force of federal law enforcement was once again used against an American citizen in what should be a state and local matter,” the letter states.
