As Breaking Digest reported, the DOJ announced it will not prosecute Merrick Garland for contempt of Congress after he defied a congressional subpoena by refusing to hand over audio recordings of Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur.

GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced on Friday afternoon that she will bring forth an inherent contempt vote on the House floor following the DOJ’s decision not to prosecute US Attorney General Merrick Garland.

“Under inherent contempt proceedings, the House or Senate has its Sergeant-At-Arms, or deputy, take a person into custody for proceedings to be held in Congress,” according to the National Constitution Center.

“Obviously, I do not have faith in the Department of Justice.. I don’t think the American people do either… I have actually already filed a privileged motion, meaning I can bring this to the floor and call it up myself,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said on Friday afternoon.
